When the professor said that we all are immigrants in U.S. even Natives as well, he is using the BROADEST sense of word. This is probably a very liberal professor that is engaging in a little indoctrination to lessen the value of citizenship.
Native Americans are just that, native Americans. The only immigrants are those that came here (immigrated) from another country. That may be someone new to the country, your parents, grandparents, great grandparents or great great grandparents. Any family born in the USA after the first immigrant is a CITIZEN.......period.
The purpose of liberal professors is to confuse young people on what a citizen is and to argue for illegal immigration. Don't buy their propaganda.
When you have time (it is kind of long) watch this video. It will open your eyes and your mind to see what is going on in our schools.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ…What is a true Definition of immigrants? what makes some one immigrant?
People populated every part of the world over tens of thousands of years. Plants, animals and humans, that exist in a particular place are modified by their environment. Although they are related to others of their species they are found nowhere else except in that particular place. As result they are Native to that place.
For example, people migrated to Ireland %26amp; people migrated to Japan. No Japanese exited in Ireland and no Irish existed in Japan. They are Native to their specific place. And they are not immigrants in their homeland.
Native Americans did not exist anywhere else in the world. Nor are they immigrants in their homeland.
Like it or not they are “Native”.
.
They have left their native country, or, country of birth, and emigrated, which means- gone to another country different to the one of their birth, and they are living there permanently, so they therefore are an migrant to this new country because they have immigrated, or emigrated.
Another name for a poor system of goverment,A major flaw in which large amounts of illegitimate immigrants and assylum seekers poor into our larger cities because thay are already excepted in them, making the average English person in that city get struck of doctors lists - back handers from eastern lawyers i wonder? look at the bullshit money spent on them paid for by who?
i whish i was exagerating.
It is my understanding that since the human species, race, whatever you wish to call it, appeared, we have been migrating.
According to some theories, man comes from africa, and from there, they migrated to the rest of the world, due to hunger, climate, who knows ?
Then, we can say that all of us are immigrants
Gad, I guess he's referring to millions of years ago when people probably migrated across the Behring Straight. Ridiculous though. An immigrant in one who entered this country from another. So no one here when it became the U.S. is an immigrant. No one born here is an immigrant. It is only people who have come here in this lifetime.
I think the point is simply that we weren't born in the area we are. So technically we were all immigrants to America because it was largely unpopulated, until colonization. But I don't know the info. on the indigenous Native American tribes.
Your professor seems confused himself. Native American immigrated too.
Why don't you ask the professors. They could fight it out.
