I was wondering, i know homophobia means u hate gays. but the thing is homophobia implies u are scared of them. Is there a word that means scared of gays and is there a word for hating gays. Also is there a word for people who hate homophobics? thxWhats the true definition of Homophobia?

I believe homophobia is a lack of knowledge as to what gay really means. Most straight people stereotype gay and lesbian people before they really know what it is. I gave a speech today on gay marriage. A lot of my fellow class mates are homophobic but I got them to listen. But if you want to get technical it's unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality. But I mainly believe it's lack of knowledge and fear.

and that's were the hate comes in. Because a lot of people really aren't afraid of homosexuals they just don't like them. but since hate come from fear and people are afraid of what they don't understand then it kinda just means fear and hate.
